小さなきっかけから、大きな夢へ。
こんにちは！
私の名前はジョシュア・ロッカミーです。祖父にちなんで名付けられましたが、ジョシュと呼んでください。もしかすると、市内で私を見かけたことがある人がいるかも?
私は2006年から現在まで松本に住んでいます。 1年間ほど英語を教えるために松本に来ましたが、仕事と松本の街、どちらも好きになりました。
私はスポーツが大好きです。（頑張れ松本山雅！）さらには、ダーツや読書、音楽も好きです。私はビートマニアIIDXのようなリズムゲームが大好きなことからDJ（ディスクジョッキー）を身に付け、今は音楽制作を学ぼうとしています。
ところで、私が初めて日本に興味を持ったきっかけを知っていますか？
私は子供の頃クリスマスに任天堂をもらい、とても気に入っていました。しかし、「任天堂」とは奇妙な名前だな…どこで作られたのだろう…と思い、箱を見てみると「メイド・イン・ジャパン」と書かれていました。私はこの出来事をきっかけに、日本に興味を持ちました。
私の好きな食べ物はピザとカレーです。私は辛い食べ物が大好きで、辛ければ辛いほど良いですね。
私はアメリカのノースカロライナ州出身です。あまり有名な場所ではありませんが、ライト兄弟が最初のフライトをおこなった場所です。もしノースカロライナに行く機会がありましたら、美しいブルーリッジパークウェイは必ず訪れてくださいね！
最後に、故ジム・ヴァルヴァーノの言葉を皆さんにお伝えします。
「あきらめないで。 決してあきらめないでください。」
Hello! My name is Joshua Wayne Lockamy, named after my grandfather, but please call me Josh. Maybe you’ve seen me around? I’ve lived in Matsumoto for almost 15 years now. I came over to try a year of teaching, and I fell in love both with the job and the area.
I’m a huge sports fan (go Yamaga!). I’m also into playing darts and reading. Another love of mine is music. I love rhythm games like Beatmania IIDX, and because of that game I’ve gotten into DJing and am trying to learn music production.
Speaking of, do you know how I first became interested in Japan? I got a Nintendo for Christmas as a kid. I loved that thing. But I thought, that’s a weird name, Nintendo…where does it come from? Of course, on the box it said MADE IN JAPAN.
My favorite foods are pizza and curry. I LOVE spicy foods, the hotter the better.
I’m from North Carolina in the United States. It’s not a very famous place, but the Wright Brothers had their first flight there. If you ever visit, be sure to check out the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway.
Finally, in the words of the late, great Jim Valvano: “Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up.”
