こんにちは！私の名前はジョーダン・ページです。ダーウィンというオーストラリア南部の小さな都市の出身です。クロコダイルやカンガルーでとても有名です。
高校卒業後にブリスベンに移りクィーンズランド大学で、教育、日本語、言語学を学びました。
2011年大学の生涯教育とTESOLの研究所のもと、日本の専門学校と協力して日本人の生徒さんのそれぞれの研究分野に役立てられるよう、ケアンズ、ブリスベン、ゴールドコースト周辺を案内する現地ガイドとして働きました。これらの経験のおかげで、私は英語を教えることに非常に興味を持ちました！
2016年の半ば、初めて長野市に来ました。 私は長野について何も知りませんでしたが、長野市の高校のALTとして３年間たくさんの高校で英語を教えました。そこでの素晴らしい経験によって、私は「教えること」が大好きになり、生徒たちの英語を学びたい！という気持ちのお手伝いをすることに情熱を燃やしました。
教えていた生徒が、実際にアルバイトで英語を話していたりクラス以外の場で英語で話そうとする姿を見たときは教師としてとても感動的な瞬間でした。
AtoZで働き、長野県で英語を教えること、自分自身を成長させていくことを心からに楽しみにしています！
Hello! My name is Jordan Leigh Page, and I’m from a small city in Northern Australia called Darwin. It’s very famous for all the crocodiles and the kangaroo you can see!
After high school, I moved to Brisbane to study Education, Japanese and Linguistics at The University of Queensland.
In 2011 I worked under the university’s Institute of Continuing and TESOL Education as an Aussie Guide where I worked with Japanese Vocational Schools to tour students around the Cairns, Brisbane and Gold Coast areas for their respective fields of study.
Thanks to those experiences I became very interested in teaching English!
In the middle of 2016, I arrived in Nagano City, Nagano for the first time. I knew nothing about the prefecture but I was to be a High School Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for many schools around the area. 3 years later, I really came to love teaching the students and found my passion for encouraging students to learn to embrace English.
Being able to see the students try to speak in English outside of class at their own part-time jobs on the slopes or for gas stations was a great reward for me as a teacher.
I am really looking forward to working for AtoZ and continuing my teaching career and personal development in Nagano Prefecture!
