Teaching has been a rewarding experience
Hello, my name is Amy Taguchi. I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, USA. I studied Japanese history during university and studied abroad in England.
I also went on a few volunteer trips to India and Cambodia to teach English. I have worked a couple seasons at different ski resorts in both southern California and New Zealand. I enjoy snowboarding so I really love the mountain scenery. It’s one of the reasons that brought me to Nagano prefecture when I moved here in 2013.
Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with students of various ages from elementary school to adult classes and have learned a lot about Japanese culture. I enjoy teaching and learning from the students. The students have motivated me to try to become better at teaching and these past several years have been a truly rewarding experience.
I look forward to meeting you all!

アメリカのカリフォルニア州サンフランシスコ出身です。
大学では日本史を学び、イギリス留学も経験しました。
英語を教えるためにインドとカンボジアへボランティアに何度か行きました。 南カリフォルニアとニュージーランドのスキーリゾートで数カ月間働いた経験もあります。 スノーボードと山の景色が大好きなことは、2013年に長野県へ引っ越してきた理由の一つです。
それ以来、小学生から大人のクラスまで様々な年齢層の皆さまと一緒に仕事をさせてもらう機会があり日本の文化について多くのことを学んできました。 教えたり、教えてもらったりすることが楽しくて仕方がありません。 この数年は本当にやりがいのある経験をさせて頂いています。
